Chalk Paint Vanity Bench

Hello All!!
I am so excited about this post! You may remember quite a while back I posted a pick of some garage sale and estate sale finds.

One of my favorite finds was this here antique vanity bench. I paid twenty five dollars for it, which for me is a lot to spend at an estate sale, but I really felt this bench had some potential. Well, it's been almost a YEAR since I've had the bench and I have finally refurbished it....

Ta Da!!
What do ya think?
Oh! Does that pillow look familiar?
It's my copy cat version of {this ADORABLE pillow}
made by Lucy at the Craftberry Bush. One of my all time favorite blogs!
If you haven't gone to visit her, you really should.
Anyway, I just loved the pillow so much...
I had to make one of my own.

I used three layers of paint on this lovely lady.
First, I used some turquoise-y blue craft paint I had stashed away from previous projects.
Second, I painted on some of Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint in Old White, and then I painted on some Paris Grey. Once the Paris Grey paint dried, I used a 60 grit piece of sand paper on her. I sanded a few spots making sure you could see all the different layers.
I didn't want the ole' girl looking too new with her fresh coats of paint.

And last but not least, I used some clear furniture paste wax (from Home Depot) that I tinted with a touch of
brown craft paint. I am so excited about the final finish!!
I love the loved and worn look. :)

 I then re-upholstered the bench with a fantastic piece of vintage fabric I acquired from a different estate sale, and a one inch thick piece of foam given to me from a neighbor and fellow crafter. I love that the only thing "new" about this bench is her look!! {breaking out into song: Isn't she loooovely}

The fabric is a gorgeous blue and white plush velvet,
the perfect touch for a luxurious look and feel.

Am I the only one or does it make your heart skip a
beat when you see that turquoise paint peeking through?

And here she is, sitting in her new home in our home...
In our front office near the entry way.
A great spot for poppin' a squat to take off your shoes and
get cozy when you walk in the door.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to leave me
your thoughts on your way out! Happing Blogging!

Coffee Sack Ottoman

 Hello All!
I wanted to share with you my latest creation!
My mother-in-law gave me a few coffee burlap sacks for Christmas,
so I covered an old ottoman I had stashed away.

So simple and very Rustic!

I simply used the sides of the coffee sack for the "piping."
I lined the inside of it with some leftover fabric I had.

Thanks to my new old sewing machine this project was a breeze!!

I will stage some much cuter photos once I
find a home for her.

Thanks for stopping by!
Check back soon, I have a few more things to post!

I will  be sharing with the following:
